Pregnancy can be a wonderful and exciting time for many women. There are the fun experiences; baby showers, choosing a name, and getting the baby room decorated. There’s watching your body change and seeing the baby move in your stomach for the first time. We understand pregnancy isn’t always easy, but the special moments may make it worth all the effort!

And after a baby is born, the “firsts” will happen over the rest of your life.  Their first words.  Their first steps.  The first day of school and the first time your child makes a friend.  There is so much to look forward to!

One thing that will become apparent is the amount of energy your child has.  Older people say, “I wish I could bottle that up and use it.” And that may ring true when managing all the birthday parties, soccer games, and family vacations.  You will need all your energy to keep up!  And what boosts the positive flow better than feeling good while out there ‘crushing it?’

When we talk about feeling good, we mean both emotionally and physically.  If your body is in good physical shape, getting around and carrying everything your kids will hand you is much easier.  Switching from work to driving your daughter over to dance class while planning that night’s dinner might also be a bit easier (even with a partner, there is a lot to juggle).

Feeling good emotionally can also contribute to better days overall. For instance, when it’s easy to throw on an outfit knowing you look terrific lessens the anxiety. And a healthy, balanced body without extra weight to add to the mood swings is also good. When mom feels better, she does better.

WHEN IT’S TIME FOR A MOMMY MAKEOVER, WE DON’T PLAY AROUND

Parenting is hard work, but there should also be plenty of time for play.  Miniature golf night with the kids, a family picnic, or a day at the beach are simple pleasures reminding you why you became a parent in the first place.  And the kids will know when you are truly present and enjoying them.  If you are exhausted or your mind is preoccupied with worries, they will know that, too.  For mothers concerned about their appearance, we say we have your back!  Ourian Plastic Surgery offers various services to help moms with different post-pregnancy problems.

Some of the long-term issues can include sagging breasts, stretch marks, wider hips, and skin discoloration (https://www.livescience.com/63291-post-pregnancy-changes.html).  Not every woman experiences the same issues, and various problems require individual approaches.  For instance, women with darker patches of skin called “The Mask of Pregnancy” could benefit from a chemical peel (https://www.ourianplasticsurgery.com/medspa/chemical-peels/).  Or if her breasts are sagging and very heavy, a breast augmentation (https://www.ourianplasticsurgery.com/breast-procedures/breast-augmentation/) could lift her spirits.

Our clinic uses an “a la cart” approach to mommy makeover discussions. While there may be similarities in experiences, each woman is impacted differently. There is no one “perfect” solution for everyone.

If you’re a mom ready to keep up with the energy it will take to raise those incredible kids of yours, contact us.  When it comes to professional post-pregnancy plastic surgery and treatments, Dr. Arial Ourian and our clinic team don’t play around!
